I find it so interesting to think about different cultures and how we all affect each other– value systems, food traditions, religion, society expectations, the sharing of stories, role models and and so much more! I’ve been so happy to see that so far this blog seems to attract a wonderful diversity of readers across the world, and I want to help encourage this by engaging input from other places.
So far, this blog has had views from
and, possibly many more that I’ve missed!
Hello International Readers!
Please send in to my email address: email@example.com (not to my comments, thanks!) your favorite traditional recipe (a baked good, a preserve, sweet or a savory dish) from your culture, preferably something that involves current seasonal ingredients. If you’re in Australia that means it’s ok if it’s a Winter dish. It doesn’t have to be a detailed recipe if it is a simple one, but give some general guidelines about amounts.
If you have significantly changed the recipe or method from the traditional way of making it, please explain the difference/s if possible.
For an example of a simple non-detailed recipe, see my response to Bobbie in the comments of this post.
Something your grandmother or great-grandmother might have made would be ideal, and preferably not something involving pizza or hot dogs (though sausage, yes). If there is a story, personal or historical, associated with the food or dish, please share!
If you can provide a photo of the dish, or a photo of yourself, please do, but be sure to send it sized down to 72 dpi and no more than 10 cm x 7.5 cm (or 283 pixels x 213 pixels). Thank you!
Or, if you are of a different culture than the country you live in, then what is your favorite recipe from your heritage?
Thank you so much!
